A couple from Airdrie have been left stranded in Portugal amid travel chaos as travellers face major disruptions throughout the week due to UK airspace network failures.
A North Lanarkshire couple have been left stranded in Portugal for five days after technical failures caused travel chaos for hundreds of travellers.
The couple, from Airdrie, were later told that the next available flight would be eight days away and that they would be provided with accommodation. However, they say the airline left them "high and dry" with no floor staff at the airport to guide them and no contact provided to get in touch with EasyJet directly.
Due to the chaos David, who works as a business analyst for Natwest, has had to use up four extra days of his annual leave while semi-retired teacher Gillian missed two days of work that she won't be paid for.
