A big loss for the city 😔
Shoppers in Nottingham city centre have spoken out about the popular retailer Joules, announcing their closure. In November 2022, it was reported that 1,600 across the retailer were at risk.
Joules is a British company that sells clothing and homeware products for all. Their products are inspired by the British country lifestyle. Now, though, a notice on the window of the Joules shop on Bridlesmith Gate, reads: "We’ve taken the decision to close this store on Friday the 25th of August. We’d like to thank you lovely lot for supporting us over the years."
Estelle Williams lives in The Meadows. Estelle, who works in catering, said: “It’s always sad to hear of a shop closing down and I would categorise Joules as being up there in terms of the products they sell.” On Bridlesmith Gate, doors away from Joules another shop that closed down this year remains empty too. Barista Lab closed its doors back in June.
