Fire engines are blocking the road as crews battle the flames
Wellington Street is currently closed to traffic near the train station as crews battle the blaze between King Street and Northern Street. First West Yorkshire has announced services are currently diverting away from the area as a result of the fire.
It said: "Due to building fire and fire engines blocking Wellington Street, service 508 will divert. Halifax: Park Row, King Street, Headrow, Westgate. Leeds: Westgate, Headrow, Park Row.Our traffic and travel partner Inrix reports the road is closed in both directions while fire crews remain at the scene.
