Looking great, Pat!
A 64-year-old mum has shed three and a half stone and been given a "new lease of life" by avoiding one aisle in the supermarket.
"I don't even go down the convivence aisle at all now. I'm taking pleasure in putting my meals together. After putting on weight during lockdown, Pat noticed her weight was having a negative impact on her mental health and sciatica. Pat said: "I just felt like I needed something to reinvigorate myself. Just walking any distance I could get pain in my leg and back.
Since losing three and a half stone Pat has decided to start her own Slimming World group which will launch at Kew Evangelical Church in Southport every Tuesday at 8am and 9.30am from August 15. She is keen to apply everything she's been teaching about motivation as a lecturer of psychology into practice in her group.
"In preparation for my retirement it's one of the best things I've done. I feel like I've given myself a new lease of life. Now, instead of feeling tired, run down and weary, I'm going into [retirement] happier, invigorated and ready for new challenges."
