What a nightmare

Neighbours on a Nottingham street have been left without internet after a lorry knocked over a telegraph pole while trying to access a building site. The vehicle collided with the post in Beckhampton Road, Bestwood, at around 10am on Monday, January 9.

"I heard such a bang and thought it had hit something. I looked and the pole was at an angle and the wires had snapped. So now I’ve got no Sky or phone or nothing. I pay £120 a month for Sky so my grandson can use it."BT Openreach said it had arranged to fit the replacement pole on Friday. Neighbours said large vehicles frequently travel down the road due to the ongoing work to build 129 Nottingham City Homes properties, which is being delivered by Lovell Homes.

"My grandma couldn’t get on the phone to make a doctor's appointment.” Callum Baker, a 35-year-old landscaper who runs a business from home, added: “One of the trucks backed into it and snapped all the cables, it was mayhem.
