The boy was shaken by the incident
The 14-year-old was walking through Wallasey Cemetery on Rake Lane on Sunday, August 20 at around 4.45pm with his electric bike when he was approached by an older teenager. The older boy pulled out a large knife from the waistband of his trousers and demanded the bike.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said enquiries are ongoing into the incident and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. The stolen bike is described as a Scott XL electric bike, with a dark green frame, light green branding and there is a deep, prominent silver scratch on the frame and the battery pack is visible.Detective Inspector Anna Hackett said: “This would have been extremely distressing for the boy and we are determined to find the person responsible.
“Likewise, if you have seen this electric bike since, let us know. Every piece of information, no matter how small, could be vital to the ongoing investigation.” “I want to reassure people who live in our area that we take these reports extremely seriously and we will do everything in our powers to reduce knife crime in Wirral. Our officers are committed in removing anyone who stores, carries and uses weapons through various measures, including proactive use of stop and search powers, open land searches, warrants and education work alongside partners.
