Lena 'Alice' Lamount, from Edinburgh, marked the momentous occasion on August 22 by tucking into 103 cupcakes that had been specially prepared for her big day.
A Scots centenarian says multiple cups of tea and laughter are the secret to a long life as she celebrates her 103rd birthday.
Kind messages had been gathered from around the world including relatives, local surgeries and residents in Canada and Singapore. Reflecting on her many happy years, Alice shared the secrets to a long life including "plenty of cups of tea and having a laugh." Alice, who has been an Edinburgh resident since birth, is a lover of the city's beautiful scenery and historic architecture, Edinburgh Live reports.
Alice lived in her own home until the age of 98, before moving into Murrayside, where she continues to enjoy days out and spending time with her family.
