Buses have been diverting in both directions
Buses have been diverting due to emergency roadworks taking place on a busy Nottingham road. The roadworks on Winchester Street, off the A60 Mansfield Road, are due to a collapsed sewer.
Due to the emergency roadworks on Winchester Street, buses as part of Nottingham City Transport's Blue 40/40X services have been diverting in both directions in recent days via Woodthorpe Drive and Woodborough Road. Barring any unforeseen issues, Severn Trent expects work to be finished by Friday, September 1.
Stops on Winchester Street, Winwood Heights, and for the Sherwood Shops are also not being served. Severn Trent has acknowledged the works will disrupt commuters' travel.A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “We are carrying out emergency repairs to a collapsed sewer in Winchester Street. To ensure the safety of our teams and other road users a road closure will remain in place while the repair is underway.
“We understand just how disruptive road closures can be, and only request them when absolutely necessary. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank everyone for their patience while we complete this complex repair.”
