A number of trains have been cancelled ahead of rush hour
The travel provider released an update at around 3pm this afternoon about trains traveling on all Wirral lines, including New Brighton, West Kirby, Ellesmere Port and Chester. They announced all trains traveling on the lines were at a standstill due to a broken down train at James Street.
The update read: "Due to a broken down train at James Street, services on the Wirral line are currently at a stand. We do try to avoid reducing services whenever possible and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."National Rail also posted an update about the delays, confirming disruption is expected until 4.15pm. A number of services have now been cancelled by Merseyrail until 4.30pm.
