One to avoid
Raw sewage has been released into a stream at a popular family beauty spot. Visitors have been warned to avoid Prestwich Clough, just a short drive from Lancashire, while the Environment Agency carries out its investigation into the 'potential pollution incident'.
Several trees have also been uprooted as a result of the landslide, United Utilities said. The incident happened on the same day a huge sinkhole opened up a short distance away in Heywood Road, Prestwich.Councillor Alan Quinn, Bury council's cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said the two incidents were "the effect of climate change"
