People shared their experiences of being treated differently because of where they were from
People have described being followed around shops, being falsely labelled as thieves and even missing out on holidays because of their Liverpool accent.
Since the ECHO's appeal, our readers have been sharing their experiences. As of writing, over half of those who responded to our poll asking if they had ever been treated differently due to their Liverpool accent, said they had been multiple times. Almost 15% said they were treated differently "all the time."
One reader said: "Booking caravans across Wales, refused multiple times due to 'we don't deal with Liverpool'." Reader 'wallyhall' said it 'happens all the time' to them. They added: "I've worked away on and off for years and the abuse Scousers get is shocking." "I was asked to leave the canteen as his area manager was due and he wouldn't be too pleased to see me in the warehouse. I was never invited in ever again."
